Today Cole turns 1 week old. It's crazy to think that he's been in our lives for 7 days already. It has been a fun and eventful 6+ days so far. Tuesday and Wednesday Cole got to sunbath to eliminate his billyrubin. Thursday and Friday he pooped, ate, pooped, slept, pooped, ate, pooped, slept. Each day he has more times of alertness and wandering eyes. He's so peaceful when his eyes are open and he stares into space.
Friday evening Katie went to pick him up and freaked because his bed was soaked. Turns out his diaper was filled with pee and leaked out the side. Friday night I was holding him and getting him ready for bed. While brushing my teeth, I noticed my shirt was wet. Check Cole out and again, soaked diaper and soaked clothes- this is going to be fun. He did it one more time late that night.
Moral of the story- point the wee-wee in the southern direction when putting on a diaper so pee goes down and not up (thanks to an experienced mom for that tip).
KT's funny of the week:
We were warned about covering his wee-wee when changing (and yes, I forgot once and he wizzed all over my sleeve and just missed his face). Well, Cole enjoys to poop on us (or me- that's why it's KT's funny of the week) right after I clean his bum. The first time I heard it coming and was able to catch in the new diaper. The second and third time it just shot out all over the changing table. Glad we put a lap cloth on the changing table so we don't have to wash that every day.
yeah... they should tell you those tips in the hospital!!! It'll also get better as his legs get fatter so that the diapers fit better! BOYS!
