When I sit and contemplate the fact that Cole is actually three years old, I really don't believe it. By now (three months later) I am used to telling people he is three but when I really truly think about it, there's just no way. Where has the time gone? I'm not going to lie and say I love having a three year old and that it's all great because he's older and more independent and understands more things and blah blah blah. This has actually been the most trying year we've had. I'm sure it has to do with many things; moving to a new house, having a new baby enter the family, getting new teachers at school, etc. But above all else, Cole is three. He is bossy and demanding, he longs for independence, his vocabulary far exceeds his age, he understands more than you would think possible, and yet, he's ONLY three. He's still my little baby, he's still very immature, he's still a very young little person. We are dealing with a lot of behavior challenges with Cole right now. We are trying to teach him the importance of obedience and how necessary it is to obey "right away, without delay". Cole wants to do his own thing on his own time ALL THE TIME! This gets tiring and quite frankly very frustrating most days. I look forward to bedtime a lot of the time and I enjoy the two days he's out of the house at KinderCare. But even in his most trying times I love this little person. I really can't believe how intelligent he is; he blows our minds away most days. Cole loves to do puzzles, read books, play with his trains, build with his Duplos, drive matchbox cars, play musical instruments, squish Play Doh, play outside, color, write, "do school " (Hooked on Phonics lessons).
On Cole's actual birthday we let him open some presents first thing in the morning. We stayed home and played for a while and then Nana took us to the train restaurant for lunch. We came home and opened more presents after his nap and then went to Five Guys Burgers and Fries for dinner. To top it all off we had donuts from our favorite local donut shop for dessert. (No cake since we were having cake at his birthday party.)
I forgot to mention that Cole got an upgrade from toddler bed to full size bed for his birthday. :)
Good morning Birthday Boy!

Cole wanted me to build him a kitchen with Duplos. Hmmm...
We asked for some pots and pans and turned his tool bench into a kitchen! :)
