19 Months

Another month has come and gone (really almost 2 because I'm so behind again!). We've been experiencing quite a bit of 'toddlerhood' lately. Cole is starting to use tantrums to TRY to get what he wants. Little does he know we are not impressed by those fits of crying, whining, and feet stomping. We usually just walk away until he realizes he has no audience and the fit is over. :)

Cole is talking up a storm! Anything we say he repeats to the best of his ability. It's quite funny at times. Especially during moments like when Adrien and I are playing stupid car games like 'padiddle' or 'flag' (calling out those words when you see a car with a headlight out or an american flag) and we here "budido" or "fat" coming from the back seat!

At 19 months Cole is still learning some sign language, talking non-stop, learning more shapes and numbers, becoming very interested in 'Cole's potty', and doing whatever he can for or by himself. He is truly Mister Independent whenever he can be. We're having a lot of fun with this stage in Cole's life even though his stubborness and willful spirit can be very frustrating.

Cole loves crackers, bananas, ambulances, fire engines, trains, balls, coloring, and most importantly, books. His love of books makes me so happy! Right around his 19th month Cole was given the opportunity to choose a stuffed animal to become his buddy. Up until that point we hadn't been letting him have blankets in his crib or any stuffed animals. Auntie Cristen had given Cole a bunch of little stuffed animals before she moved. We told Cole he could pick something out of the basket of animals to take to the grocery store. (This later turned into his faithful bed buddy.) Of all the doggies, bears, and other typical stuffed favorites, Cole chose the rhino. That's right, our funny little guy sleeps with a rhino every night! I love it!!!! I don't know very many parents who can say their kid sleeps with a rhino. Dare to be different Cole Man!

Big hugs for Rhino!
