20 Months!!

I realize Cole was 20 months a few weeks ago. I also realize I had three posts all in a row and now this huge gap again! Here's my excuse:

What you may not know is that in between our last post and today, Adrien has had surgery on his intestines, spent 6 days recovering in the hospital, and has since been recovering at home. It's been quite interesting around our house the last couple weeks. Adrien is recovering well but there are many things he can't do yet. Picking up Cole is one of those things. I'm doing my best to be patient with both Adrien and Cole and helping in as many ways as I can. I will admit it's hard having an adult in the house and thinking they should be able to help with Cole and then remembering they can't! Anyway, all that to say, I haven't had much spare time to sit and blog. :) Throw Christmas in the mix and it's been a whirlwind couple of weeks!

Cole turned 20 months while Adrien was in the hospital so we had some help from Auntie Cristen taking Cole's picture with Dug. (Auntie Cristen came to stay for 4 days to watch Cole so Mommy could go to the hospital to visit Daddy everyday!)

Cole is so active now and busy, busy, busy. He's a very curious little fella-looking inside, under, and around all his toys and trying to get me to change batteries on electronic toys!!! He's talking up a storm; he still repeats EVERYTHING we say but his own vocabulary is huge now! I get a lot of comments from people-mostly at church-about how much he's talking! Apparently he talks non stop in the nursery! Ah! Nursery was also something Cole overcame during this past month. He used to cry every time we left him in there but every since he spent 2 hours playing in the nursery with just Daddy, he loves it! It's the first thing he asks for when we get to church every week, "Nursy, doys!" We really are glad he's so comfortable in there now, even though we don't even get a good-bye anymore!

We've held back on teaching sign language this month as we want to make sure it doesn't interfere with Cole's vocabulary development. I will say I don't see any signs of that thus far so we may pick back up with it again!

Enjoy some photos!!
Auntie Cristen's attempt at Dug pictures without any help!

Next day taken by Mommy with Auntie holding Cole in place until the very last second! :) I'm telling ya, it takes a village-even to get a single picture!

Merry (belated) Christmas to you all! And Happy New Year too-it'll probably take me that long to get the Christmas post up! :)
