Cole had to have a re-circumcision. Ouch. He was circumcised in the hospital the day after he was born but there were some complications (I will free you of all details!!) so we've been waiting for the right time to have it redone. We decided it was best to get this over with before the baby comes.
The Monday after Mother's Day was Cole's big day. We had to be at the hospital at 6:00 in the morning so we woke Cole up at 5:40, did a quick diaper change, and off we went. We waited for a few minutes in the waiting room and then were taken to Cole's 'room'. He got to wear a cool hospital gown and and look at lots of machines and buttons. I was so impressed with the nurses and staff during our visit. They were so good with Cole and made us feel very comfortable about what was happening. Once they took Cole away for his procedure, Adrien and I waited in a small waiting room. We barely had time to eat our breakfast! The doctor came out to talk to us about 40 minutes after Cole had been taken away. We went back to Cole's room and stayed for about 2 hours while Cole woke up. He had to have general anesthesia so it took a while for him to really wake up. After a few sips of juice we were off!
Cole has been a great patient the past 4 weeks. He's recovered very well; in fact, he was back to his normal self the day after the surgery! We have a follow up appointment this Friday-here's to hoping we don't have to have a re-re-circumcision!!
On our way to the hospital!
Wheel chair ride!
In my gown-ready to go.
After surgery-totally out of it.
His IV.
