So-here is my blog potluck-a little bit of everything!!!
While we were in Maine we received a call from our Realtor giving us a closing date! Surprise, we had an offer on a house and I don't think I ever mentioned it. After the last one fell through I was very guarded about talking about this house. I didn't want to deal with explanations again if it fell through. We closed on our house June 15th but didn't get the keys until the 21st. Needless to say, much of the last month has been spent unpacking, painting, doing projects around the house, AND getting a new nursery ready for one little girl due arrive in the next 4 weeks!!!!! I promise to write a separate post about the house and post pictures (I haven't really taken many yet). I will not just blow over this big life event; except for right now.
This is our house-taken the day of the final walk through-June 14, 2012
Here we are in front of the sold sign!!!
(We cheated and took this the day of the walk through too. We figured the sign would be gone the following day and we weren't going to be at the house for another week anyway.)
We got a pool pass again this summer-we being Cole and I. We don't get a pass for Adrien since he can't go with us very often. We have managed to drag him with us a couple times already which has been really fun for Cole (and good for me since it is getting increasingly more difficult for me to run around with Cole). We haven't made it to the pool as much as I'd like due to the fact that Cole has been sick three of the last four weeks. (More on that next.) I'm hoping to get a few more visits in before Baby Sister arrives.
Sitting on our pool chair during the 15 minute adult swim. This is when we usually eat our snack hence the chewing face. :)
Cole's little body has been put through the ringer lately; I think this is mostly due to him being exposed to more germs and things at Kinder Care. He was rarely sick before attending there but he wasn't around many kids when he was home all the time. I figure he's either gonna be sick a lot now or sick a lot when he starts pre-school and Kindergarten. I'd rather he miss "school" now than 'real' school later. We think the first two of the four week span Cole had a generic virus. We did take him to the doctor during the second week and she pretty much said he had a virus that would go away in a few days. We just had to keep him hydrated. Then we had a week free of fevers and vomiting. Then last week Cole woke up from a nap with a fever again. After the first two days of fever I thought it must be related to the first two weeks of this whole ordeal. I started getting a bit concerned because I didn't think it was normal for a child to get random fevers on and off without any other symptoms. Cole ended up having the fever for three and a half days. The morning after his fever broke he woke up with a little rash on his face, chest, and back. After reading a bunch of medical articles and websites we determined Cole had Roseola. Turns out Roseola is pretty common among 3 month to 2 year old children. Most kids get it and it's also a virus so you just have to wait it out. The good news at that point was the fever is the worst part of the virus! The rash is only bad visually-it doesn't itch or hurt. Cole had no clue he even had the rash until we showed him in the mirror. He is now fully recovered and back to his normal self; thank goodness!!!
Cole's rash-he actually looks pretty miserable in this picture-that's because I made him stop playing so I could get a photo. :)
Cole sweating out his fever. We moved him because we could see sweat on the sheet around his head. Little did we know we'd find a sweat mark of his whole body! :(
Now for some random photos-some of my favorites from the last few weeks.
Adrien did this to him. I asked Cole what he was. His response: "super hero".
We found this bath robe while unpacking. It was a gift for Cole at one of my baby showers. It's a bit small for him now I'd say. :)
Cole and Adrien enjoying our backyard. They are so cute together!
Cole comparing his drill with Daddy's drill. "They are the same!"
The boys enjoying the backyard again-this time in their cool lawn chairs.
I promise to post again soon about the house!! With plenty of pictures. :)
Your house looks so cute, and so do you with your little pregnant belly! How fun that you are having a little girl. It looks like Cole and his daddy sure are great buddies! Thanks for sharing!
