Cole's Big Day

I thought turning one was a big deal. I now realize turning two is the REALLY big deal! Cole is NOT a baby any longer; according to Kinder Care he's not even a toddler anymore. He's a two year old!!! Ahhh!!! I have to admit that I am that emotional mama who is a bit sad about my 'baby' turning 2!

We had a great day today-we did our normal Tuesday things with a few Birthday treats along the way. We started with a special present from Daddy at breakfast this morning. Then Cole and I went to church for my Women's Book Study like we do every Tuesday. After church we had a last minute lunch with Nandad at a super yummy Mexican restaurant. Cole LOVES bean burritos so he got to have a favorite for his lunch. While Cole napped this afternoon Nandad and I put his BIG birthday present together. *Side note: I was going to pick up a little cake for Cole after church this morning but the whole way to church he was talking about blueberry muffins so I decided to make him blueberry muffins for his birthday dessert. He'll have cake at his birthday celebration on Saturday. :) * After dinner we sang to Cole and had muffins and then it was BIG present time!!! While Nana was getting Cole's muffin ready I told him if he saw fire he had to blow really hard to make the fire go out. I didn't tell him where the fire would be or anything about the candle. Wait till you see his reaction to his muffin! :)

Today really seemed uneventful for the most part but Cole knew it was his special day. :) Yay birthdays! We'll be having a small celebration on Saturday with local family members and some close family friends so we have more fun to look forward to!

P.S. Cole got to Skype with Grandpa last Saturday and opened his birthday present in front of the camera. Grandpa and Grandma sent Cole a rocket ship and a Curious George book. We took a special photo of Cole and his rocket ship today. We Skyped with Great Nana and Great Poppa today for the first time!! They just got their camera and we are so excited to get to 'see' them more often!!
