Artist

Cole seems to like everything-he's into sports, he LOVES to read books, he's great at imaginative play, and he really enjoys art. Over the past few months we've acquired many different sporting items (basketball hoop, T-ball set, golf clubs, etc) and of course we always have plenty of books and toys around. But aside from the occasional coloring with crayons, we really didn't feed into his enjoyment of art. SO, Nana and I decided to change that. :) We found an easel at a store called Once Upon a Child. They buy and sell used clothing, toys, and other baby items. When we saw the easel we couldn't pass it up! It was cheap and it was in great condition. Cole has really taken to that thing. The day we bought it he couldn't wait to get home and use it!! He now has special paint containers and brushes for painting, dry erase markers for the white board side, and we use sidewalk chalk on the chalkboard side. Cole really seems to love painting the most (although when we first started with the paint-it's finger paint-he had to use his fingers and didn't seem to enjoy being messy SO Mommy went to Joann Fabrics and bought him paint brushes). Cole and I recently took a trip to Joann Fabrics so Mommy could pick up some yarn and we saw tons of bird houses on sale for $1.00!!! Adrien has been teaching Cole about different birds and Cole is even learning the bird songs. They keep talking about how we're going to have bird feeders in our backyard when we have a house. Well, when I saw the $1 bird houses, that was it. We had to have one! I bought a little paint set (also for $1) and Adrien and Cole had a painting party!!

Finger painting on the new easel.

Not sure if he really likes it or not...

"Cole, please smile for the picture!"

Painting the birdhouse with Daddy.

So much concentration!

Now we have paint brushes and paint containers.
 One brush for each color!
