Do the Limbo

Prepare yourself for this one-find a comfy seat, get a cup of tea or your favorite hot beverage, and maybe even a blanket to wrap in. You'll be here awhile. I am so behind but I have a VERY good reason. Unfortunately, that reason means so new pictures and no 21 month post (or even 22 month post at this point). Our small Chabot clan has been thrown into a whirlwind of craziness over the past few weeks and I am going to tell you all about it!

Let's start with our big news (mostly because this big news is the catalist for everything else that has happened). We're expecting Baby #2!!! He or she is due to arrive August 19. We are thrilled and nervous all at the same time. I think I'm the most nervous-can I really handle two kids at once?? Cole will be just shy of 2 1/2 years old when the baby is born; I'm hoping at that age he'll be interested in the baby and excited for the new little one rather than being confused and scared of the loud crying. ;) When we first decided it was time for our next baby we thought we would stay in our condo for a little while after the baby's arrival. We were pretty sure we could handle having the baby in our room for a few months. BUT....

Back in the beginning of January, we found out a unit in our building had sold for a significantly lower price than we bought ours for 5 years ago. We also found out it had been bought by an investment company who were going to rent it out for a very decent price. We thought, "what if we could rent our condo for that price too and rent a three bedroom house instead of being crammed in our 2 bedroom condo!?" So, on a whim we listed our condo for rent on Craigslist. Within about 2 weeks we had a renter willing to sign a 2 year lease! Done. We told her she could move in February 1st. Were we crazy? Probably. But we had plans A-Z so we were good to go. We started looking at rentals in our area but nothing seemed to suit so we made a plan with Nana and Nandad that we could live with them for a a month or two while we looked for something to rent. Then, a week and a half before our moving date, we found a house. It wasn't perfect, but it was "fine" for a rental. We signed a two year lease and away we went. We started moving stuff into the house the day before our big move. Nandad was helping us and started showing some concern about the condition of the house. Long story short, moving day we had our truck loaded and then unloaded into a storage unit. Turned out the house had a slight mold problem and some water damage/leakage. Thankfully we were able to get out of the lease and got ALL our money back from the landlords. We are now living with Nana and Nandad while we continue searching for the perfect home. All our belongings are in a storage unit. Among those items would be our camera and the cord for uplaoding them to the computer. :( That is why we can't post any pictures or do Cole's 21 month post.

We are definitely in limbo at this point in life. Adrien has been trying to get back into the routine of working after having his full 6 weeks recovery time from his surgery. Unfortunately, at the end of those 6 weeks we moved and then Adrien caught a pretty nasty cold from Cole so he's just now getting back into that routine. We're settling into life with parents again :) and figuring out what we need and what we can live without for a few weeks. We are very grateful to Nana and Nandad for taking us in and allowing us to invade their space and privacy.

We'll be sure to keep you all posted as things continue. I'll try to find a way to get some photos for the next post!
