Way back on June 16th, Cole had his 2 month wellness check up. He also received the first round of his shots. He weighed in at 11 pounds 5 ounces and measured 23 1/2 inches long! He was really brave for the shots; we were really proud of him. The shots are given in the thighs so the nurse pinned Cole's legs down against the table. As soon as he realized he couldn't move them he began screaming! He cried through the whole experience but as soon as his legs were released he stopped! I don't even think he noticed the shots. He was given three band aids which I meant to photograph but completely forgot. (They had dogs and soccer balls on them.) :) He was such a trooper!
We bought Cole an interactive learning gym. Right now we lay him under it and he watches the lights and listens to the music. I've posted a video of Cole below for you to see! He really seems to enjoy this new toy.
As you may know I had been having trouble getting Cole to nap in his crib during the day. We also started having some trouble getting him down at night and he was averaging a 10:00 bedtime. We had dinner with our pastor and his family two Sundays ago. Michelle, a very experienced mother of four and wife to our pastor recommended swaddling. We had been swaddling Cole from day one at home but he outgrew the special blankets we had so early in June we quit swaddling him. Michelle has swaddling blankets that she loves and let us borrow one. That night Cole pretty much slept through the night and napped in his crib the next day. Needless to say, we have purchased our own swaddling blankets! Cole is not sleeping through the night as I had hoped, but he takes every nap in his crib now! YAY!!! I should also mention that he now goes to bed between 7:00 and 7:45 most nights!
This past week was Adrien's company trip. This year we had to travel all the way to Chicago! That's right, our family summer vacation was only a 40 minute drive from home. :) It actually turned out to be a good thing. We were able to bring Cole along so he could be introduced to the whole company. The first night was an award ceremony. This is when Cole was introduced AND Adrien received an award for selling 25,000 units (that's about 500 families protected via the insurance policies)!!! Way to go Daddy!! :) My parents took Cole home to their house on the 4th for one night so Adrien and I could enjoy some grown up time with our friends, attend a Cubs game (rooftop seats!!!) and were able to watch fireworks downtown. Adrien had a business meeting all day July 5th. My parents brought Cole back to our hotel late morning and the four of us hung out. We went for a walk and lunch in the city and then relaxed in our hotel room the rest of the day. (Cole was a little out of whack-probably due to traveling and messed up schedules.) The evening of the 5th was a themed party-the 80's! Adrien and I dressed up as is customary for these events and the 5 of us went to the dinner party. My parents took a train home that night. We were very grateful for all their help! The last full day of our trip was family day. We signed up ahead of time to go to the Shedd Aquarium. We had a nice time at the aquarium but Cole slept through pretty much the entire experience! :) We are now home and are trying to get back into some sort of routine.
Cole will be three months tomorrow so be sure to watch for the next "doggy picture"!!! :)

This is the best smile picture I can get. Cole is very interested in the
shiny metal of our camera so when I put the camera
in front of him, he stops smiling to focus on the shiny thing!!
